It was customary in those times, at the Association, to have three sermons on Sunday. Worship would begin at 10 A. M. At the close of the first sermon, which was rarely less than an hour in length, the second preacher immediately came forward; and, after a hymn and prayer, delivered another sermon, seldom remarkable for brevity.
